On a board for the first time in the morning. Riding the slope on your own by the afternoon. Most beginners manage exactly that on their first day with us. And if you need longer, we take the time. Pick a date

No board of your own? No problem.

Board, bindings, boots and helmet are ready for you and set up by your coach. All you bring is warm, waterproof clothing.

The way in for the smallest riders: one hour alone with one of our instructors, in the flat childrens area well away from the big slopes. It is not about performance, it is about the first feel for board and snow, wrapped up in games and taken at your childs pace.

Arrival & introductions

We meet at the agreed meeting point on the Fallbachhang and get to know each other. This is where you get everything you need to know about the day.

We answer the questions we get asked most often. Still something open? Just write to us — we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

No. You need no previous experience, and you can hire a board, boots and helmet from us – just add them when you book. All you need to bring is warm, waterproof winter clothing and gloves.

Waterproof ski trousers and jacket, not too bulky – you want to be able to move. Add warm base layers, a hat, a scarf and, crucially, waterproof ski gloves. We provide the helmet.

The Mini Boarder course starts at age 3 and the beginner courses at 8 – with no upper limit at all. We have had 68-year-olds happily sharing the slope with the teenagers.

The helmet comes from us; a board with bindings and boots can be added on:

You book the hire together with the course, so everything is ready on the day. Browse the courses.

It differs from person to person. In our experience most people are standing on the board after two or three hours, and many ride the beginners' slope on their own by the end of the first day. We deliberately make no promises: how far you get depends on your willingness, how you learn and your motivation – and we take as much time as you need.

The meeting point is right at the Fallbachhang in Oberhof – reachable by car, bus or train. On our directions page you will find written directions and an interactive map.

We hear that worry often, and it is a fair one. If you follow your instructor's guidance you are in good hands: we spend most of the time on the beginners' hill, where speeds stay low and you are kept clear of the main slope traffic. The FIS rules of conduct cover the rest.

A snowboard course voucher is ordered online and arrives by email or as a printed version by post. You redeem it via the voucher redemption page for the date you want.

A free cancellation is possible until 5 pm the day before the course – a phone call or an email is enough. If you simply let the date pass without a word, we unfortunately have to charge for the course.
