Mini Boarder Course
The way in for the smallest riders: one hour alone with one of our instructors, in the flat childrens area well away from the big slopes. It is not about performance, it is about the first feel for board and snow, wrapped up in games and taken at your childs pace.

How your day works

Arrive and get kitted out
We meet at the Fallbachhang, get to know your child and fit the snowboard, boots and helmet to their size.

First steps in the kids' area
We head to the flat kids' area, away from the big slopes. There your child finds out how the board feels on their feet, how to sit down and how to get back up.

Balance and sliding as a game
We wrap the first balance and sliding exercises in games — one moment an aeroplane keeping its balance, the next a sliding penguin. No dry technique drills here.

Pace to suit the day
Your child decides how far we get. We take breaks when they are needed and stop when concentration runs out. No “but you have to now”.
This is what you can do by the end of the day
- Your child has stood on a snowboard for the first time.
- They have practised sitting down with the board and getting back up.
- They have done their first balance and sliding exercises on flat ground.
- They know how snow feels under the board — the basis for everything that follows.
Is this course right for you?
Yes, if …
- Your child is between 3 and 6 years old.
- They should get to try out the snow, with no programme and no pressure to perform.
- You want someone to look after just your child for an hour.
- One hour is enough for you as a first test of whether snowboarding appeals at all.
Probably not, if …
- Your child is older than 6 — from age 8 the group beginner course is the better way in.
- They are not yet comfortable being looked after by someone they don't know.
- You expect your child to be riding after one hour — that is not what this course is for.

Frequently asked questions about this course
The course is for children aged 3 to 6. Whether your child is ready depends less on age than on motor skills and concentration — children who already ride a balance bike usually find it easier. If in doubt, give us a call beforehand.
For this age group, as a rule, yes. Most children can't concentrate in the snow for longer than an hour at a stretch — after that, practising stops being fun.
Warm, waterproof winter clothing, gloves and ski goggles or sunglasses. You can add a snowboard, boots and helmet at checkout.
Then we take a break or do something else. There is no exercise that has to be pushed through — the instructor goes by how your child is doing on the day.
That is not the aim of this hour. It is about your child experiencing the snow as something lovely and wanting more. How quickly they ride after that varies a lot from child to child.
Good to know
The Mini Boarder Course is a private lesson for one child between three and six years old - one hour long, because that is roughly the attention span of the smallest riders. Everything happens in the flat childrens area, away from the bustle of the main slopes. Because every child at that age is different, the pace and the exercises follow their motor skills and the mood of the day: a cautious child gets more time, a little daredevil gets more to do.
