How your day works

  1. Arrive and get kitted out

We meet at the Fallbachhang, get to know each other and fit the snowboard, boots and helmet individually to you.

  2. A little theory comes with it

What is frontside, what is backside? Do you ride regular or goofy? How do you stand up properly with a snowboard, and what is skating? Kept short, but you can't do without it.

  3. How to fall safely

In the first warm-up exercises we show you how to fall safely and give you tips on how to behave on the mountain.

  4. Braking takes practice

Traversing and gliding across the fall line, plus controlled braking and stopping. That way you can always get back down any slope.

This is what you can do by the end of the day

  • You have practised gliding, braking and stopping — that is what GS 1 is about.
  • You know how to fall properly and get back up.
  • You know the basic terms: frontside, backside, regular or goofy.
  • You receive proof that lets you take Beginner Level GS 2 with us.

Is this course right for you?

Yes, if …

  • You have never, or only once or twice, stood on a snowboard.
  • A whole day of beginner course is too much for you — GS 1 is the first half of it.
  • You enjoy learning together with others and like the breaks in between.
  • You want to keep it open whether and when you do GS 2 on another day.

Probably not, if …

  • You can already ride turns safely — then Beginner Level GS 2 or a private lesson suits you better.
  • You want the complete basic training in one day — then book the Beginner Course GS 1 + GS 2.
  • You have a recent injury to your knee, shoulder or wrist.
  • You need one-to-one coaching throughout — then take the private lesson.
„Habe den Kurs meinem Sohn (14) geschenkt. Er war mega happy. Toller Kurs mit super Lehrern. Er fährt jetzt Snowboard, hat die wichtigsten Basics gelernt. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen 👍👍👍👍👍“

Warm, waterproof clothing, gloves and ski goggles or sunglasses. You can add a board, boots and helmet when you book.

If the course cannot go ahead from our side, you get a replacement date or your money back. You yourself can cancel free of charge until 5 pm the day before the course.

No. Lift fees at the Fallbachhang are included in the price for the duration of the course.

Good to know

Beginner Level GS 1 is the first half of the beginner course. If a whole day (GS 1 + GS 2) feels like a lot to take on at once, this is where to start. Book GS 1 on one day and GS 2 on another, and work through the basics without the rush.

A LITTLE THEORY COMES WITH IT

Learn the basics with us. What is frontside, what is backside? Do you ride regular or goofy? How do you get back on your feet with a board strapped on? And what exactly is skating?

HOW TO FALL SAFELY

In the first warm-up exercises we show you how to fall without hurting yourself, and pass on the rules that keep everyone safe on the mountain.

BRAKING TAKES PRACTICE

How do you traverse and glide across the fall line? So that you always arrive in one piece, we show you how to slow down and come to a stop.
